About the Sigma Chapter

Zeta Beta Tau was founded in 1898 as the nation's first Jewish fraternity. With the addition of the Sigma chapter at Tulane University, Zeta Beta Tau truly became a national organization. In 1909, as ZBT’s 14th chapter, we became the first house to be located outside of the Northeast. Our chapter designation, Sigma, stands for South, to recognize this important distinction. The Alumni of Sigma chapter have quite the resume.  Leaders in business, politics, philanthropy, and fraternity life, the brothers of Sigma chapter achieve excellence.  There are currently 3 Sigma Chapter Alumni who sit on the Board of Tulane after having achieved a lifetime of accomplishments.

The Tulane Rush Process

Men interested in joining ZBT should meet as many brothers as possible during the fall semester and learn about the various activities sponsored by our chapter. The more people you meet, the more likely you are to receive a bid. Although formal rush is in the spring, we're interested in meeting as many potential brothers as possible throughout the Fall
